Media Advisory -- Scholarship Golf Outing
SIU Carbondale Chancellor Rita Cheng will host the annual Chancellor’s Academic Scholarship Golf Outing on Friday, Sept. 6, at the Hickory Ridge Public Golf Center in Carbondale. The chancellor will discuss the importance of public-private partnerships beginning at 9:15 a.m., and she will introduce this year’s 38 Chancellor’s Scholars and thank the many supporters and donors. There will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m. This year’s event has already raised the most funds ever in support of the four-year scholarships, the most prestigious awarded by the university. Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to cover the golf outing.
