Volunteers sought for move-in activities
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- University Housing is seeking volunteers to help SIU Carbondale students and their families with move-in Aug. 15-17. Faculty, staff, alumni and community members are welcome to be part of the effort.
Students who have a University Housing two-year Edge contract or who are part of a Living Learning Community will move in on Thursday, Aug. 15. All other new students arrive on campus the following day. Returning students will move in on Saturday, Aug. 17.
Volunteers are crucial to help make the move-in process as smooth as possible for students and their families. New and returning volunteers are welcome. You can sign up for as few or as many shifts as you like. The more people who help the easier it is for everyone.
To assure that volunteers are easily recognizable to students and families, volunteers will receive special “Saluki Startup” T-shirts to wear during move-in. All volunteers who register before July 26 will receive a shirt. A limited number of shirts will be available for those who sign up after that date.
Volunteers will receive a confirmation email with additional information closer to the move-in dates.
