University to honor its authors on Wednesday
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale will celebrate the accomplishments of faculty and staff who have recently seen their works through to book publication.
The annual “Celebration of Campus Authors” recognizes the creative, research and academic work of 36 University employees who published works in 2011. The event begins at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, in the Hall of Presidents and Chancellors in Morris Library, with a reception immediately following in the First Floor Rotunda.
Chancellor Rita Cheng will congratulate those on campus whose hard work and dedication are part of what keeps SIU Carbondale in the top tier of research universities.
SIU Carbondale faculty have published more than 10,000 journal articles, 700 books, and 2,000 book chapters in the past 10 years.
