CARBONDALE, Ill. -- One of Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s biggest social events for students returns to campus on Friday, Feb. 22.

Dawgs Nite Out is happening from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Student Recreation Center.  It is free for all University students who show a valid University ID card.  Participants will enjoy an array of prizes, free food, fun, games and door prizes.

The planned activities include glow laser tag, green screen photos, Bingo, henna tattoos, random act of kindness jewelry, bouncy boxing, jousting, robo surfing, and amazing race.  Students can get creative by creating their very own, personalized origami, airbrush hats, street signs, silicone bracelets and key chains.  Entertainment includes a live remote from WIDB and crate stacking from Touch of Nature Environmental Center.  Other contests include a basketball shootout and “Minute to Win It.”   Many of the games feature prizes and those attending can win door prizes, too.

The event includes bottled water and other beverages along with a variety of snack including granola, nuts throughout the evening.  The night concludes with pizza at about 11 p.m.
