CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois University Carbondale School of Art and Design is having a double dose of fundraisers at the end of the month.

Two of the school’s Registered Student Organizations, Southern Clay Works and Southern Glass Works, will each host two-day fundraisers showcasing student art Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 27-28.

Cortney Boyd, a representative from Southern Glass Works, said the events are a way to showcase the work from students and faculty.

“The Holiday Sale is a great opportunity to buy handmade items from the students and faculty of the department,” Boyd said.

The Southern Glass Works Holiday Sale is from 4-7 p.m. both days at the Glass House, 1002 W. Whitney St. The Southern Clay Works Holiday Sale, in the Pulliam Hall Industrial Wing, is from 4-9 p.m. on Nov. 27, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Nov. 28.

The proceeds for the events will help the department purchase supplies and bring in visiting artists.
