Grant writing courses offered this fall

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Office of Continuing Education and Outreach at Southern Illinois University Carbondale will once again offer two grant writing courses this fall.

The first class, Introduction to Grant Writing, is from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 4-5, in Lawson Hall, room 101. The course is for individuals who want to learn more about the process of obtaining grants from both governmental and private organizations.

The second course, Advanced Grant Development and Administration, will offer participants information on developing grants that directly impact their institution's long-range goals and strategic planning efforts. The course will also focus on grant development techniques and research methods for current grant opportunities. This two-day course is from 6 to 9 p.m., Oct. 2-3, also in Lawson Hall, room 101.

Bob Ross, who has more than 25 years experience writing grants for local community colleges, will teach both courses. Registration for each course is $50.
