Media Advisory: Experts Available on Court Ruling

Southern Illinois University Carbondale has several experts who can assist you in reporting and analyzing Thursday's anticipated decision by the U.S. Supreme Court on the national health care law, the Affordable Care Act.

Experts in constitutional law, health care, and politics will be available. 

Steven J. Macias, an assistant professor at the SIU School of Law, and an expert in constitutional law and the legislative and administrative process, will be available at 618/453-8464 or by email at smacias@siu.edu.  Professor William A. Schroeder, who can discuss the Supreme Court and the constitutional aspects of the decision, will be available at 618/453-8747 or by email at wschroe@siu.edu.  In addition, Dr. Jerry E. Kruse, chair of the SIU School of Medicine's Department of Family and Community Medicine in Springfield, will be available for interviews Thursday morning.  He can be reached at 217/224-1868.  The family practice program also operates in Carbondale, Decatur and Quincy.
