Introductory grant-writing course set for Feb. 7-8

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Finding the funds for research or programs can often be a challenge.  Fortunately, there is help available for those seeking assistance.

Southern Illinois University Carbondale is offering an introductory grant-writing course.  This mini-course is appropriate for individuals who want to learn about the process of obtaining grants from government or private organizations.  Individuals should be prepared to actively participate in class discussion and help compose a grant proposal outline.

The course instructor is Jo Anne Nast.  She has 25 years experience in grant writing and has obtained numerous grants from national departments and organizations.  Retired from the SIU Carbondale Office of Research Development and Administration, she continues to actively work with non-profit organizations regarding grant development and administration.  

The course will meet in Lawson Hall, Room 141 on the SIU Carbondale campus from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 7 and 8.  The cost is $50.
