Media Advisory -- Starting a Business Workshop
Registration indicates there will be a large class of about 50 for the Starting a Business in Illinois workshop at Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Thursday, Jan. 12.
Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to cover the workshop from 5 to 7 p.m. in Room 150 at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, 150 E. Pleasant Hill Road in Carbondale. The two-hour seminar from the Illinois Small Business Development Center/International Trade Center provides participants with an overview of all the information they’ll need to start a new business. They’ll learn about legal structure, start-up requirements, securing financing and the basics of business plans.
This is the first in a series of eight “Starting a Business in Illinois” workshops the center is offering this spring and early registrations point to strong interest in finding out more about starting a business.
