33rd Annual Holiday Craft Sale is Dec. 1-3

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- If you are in search of the perfect holiday gift for someone special or for yourself, there’s an event you won’t want to miss.

The 33rd Annual Holiday Craft Sale at Southern Illinois University Carbondale will be Dec. 1-3 at the Student Center.  The popular arts and crafts sale is free and open to the public.  Sale hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 1 and 2 and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Dec. 3.

The Craft Shop sponsors the sale and it’s so big, there are actually booths in the Art Gallery on the first floor as well as in the International Lounge on the second floor. The sale features the handiwork of about 90 local and regional crafters, alumni and students and many of the items offered are one of a kind.  

You’ll find handmade rugs, weavings, quilts, photography, soaps, glass art, pottery, iron work, jewelry, woodworking, candles, crocheted and knitted items, calendars, holiday wreaths and garlands from the University’s Horticulture Club, toys, Saluki sculptures, items from the SIU Press and much more.

Parking is free on Saturday at the Student Center.
