‘Decade of Drag’ drag show set at Student Center
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- More than 350 people attended the Mardi Gras Spring Drag Show at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and organizers anticipate an even bigger crowd for the Nov. 4 Decade of Drag Drag Show.
The event is set for 8-10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, at the Student Center’s Ballrooms C and D. The doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 per person, payable at the door. The show is open to the public with a minimum age of 16.
Popular drag queens and kings slated to appear include Blanche DuBois, Veronica Belle Headley, Jasmine Cavalli, Kara Belle and Rodrick Deeper. And of course, the popular suicide drag returns with audience volunteers getting the chance to vie for the opportunity to experience a “drag” makeover and then perform briefly on stage during the intermission.
