Media Advisory -- Technology and Innovation Expo
The Third Annual Southern Illinois University Carbondale Technology and Innovation Expo on Friday, Oct. 28, will showcase research, development and innovation at the University.
Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to attend the expo from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, 150 E. Pleasant Hill Road in Carbondale, to meet campus inventors and researchers and see their work. The expo will feature presentations by faculty inventors and invited guests as well as a faculty entrepreneurs’ discussion panel and special displays.
The event is a showcase of new inventions and start-up businesses brought about through SIU Carbondale research, innovation and intellectual property. It is the chance to learn more about University inventions, patents and technology licensing as well as opportunities. The expo wraps up Innovation Week on campus.
In addition, the dedication and ribbon cutting for the new Saluki Innovation Lab will take place at 3:30 p.m. that day and media are welcome.
