EMS Instructor Course set for Aug. 5-7

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- An Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Instructor Course is taking place Friday through Sunday, Aug. 5-7, at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

The course is a collaborative effort of the University’s Rural Medical Transportation Network (RMTN) and the National Association of EMS Educators. The class is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, located at 150 E. Pleasant Hill Road in Carbondale. After completing the course, participants will have the certification necessary to instruct other emergency medical services personnel in life-saving clinical methods and practices.

Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to come to the EMS Instructor Course for stories, photographs and video. The class meets 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 5-7 at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, 150 E. Pleasant Hill Road, Carbondale.


RMTM is a project of SIUC’s Center for Rural Health and Social Services Development. The network is providing 10 scholarships, including fees and lodging, to individuals participating in the training session.
