by Nicole Trainor

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- High school athletes can showcase their baseball skills at Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Saluki Baseball Prospect Camp on Aug. 9 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Abe Martin Field.

This camp’s focus is high school players from the graduating classes of 2012, 2013 and 2014 who want to showcase their skills to local college coaches. The morning will begin with skill instruction and player evaluations. In the afternoon, players will get to play games and tour the SIUC campus.

Saluki baseball coaching staff members Ken Henderson, P.J. Finigan and Ryan Strain will lead the camp instruction. The staff will also include Saluki players and area college coaches.

The camp registration fee is $85 and registration is due by Aug. 5. A camp enrollment cap is set at 80 players so organizers recommend early registration.

For more information or to sign up for the camp, contact the Division of Continuing Education at 618/536-7751 or visit the website at https://www.dce.siu.edu.
