by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- University Housing at Southern Illinois University Carbondale has set move-in dates for the fall 2011 semester.
The residence halls will open Aug. 17 for new students with a Two-Year Edge Housing Contract or an assignment to a Living Learning Community. All other new students can move in Aug. 18. Move-in for returning students begins Aug. 20.
Students residing at Wall and Grand Apartments can move in any time between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Aug. 14-21. Go to http://housing.siu.edu and click on the moving truck to see all of the information about living at these University Housing locations and also for Evergreen Terrace, Southern Hills and Elizabeth Apartments. Each location has an individualized move-in guide and students can access each of the guides on that web page.
The website features specific move-in schedules for the residence halls, move-in and regular dining hours, menus and much more. There are lists of suggested items to bring, information about staying connected online and parking and mail service details.
Essentially, everything you’ll want to know about living at SIUC is probably online at www.housing.siu.edu. If you do need additional information or have questions though, stop by the University Housing offices at Washington Square D (707 S. Washington St.), call 618/453-2301 or send an email through the website.
Fall 2011 classes begin Aug. 22.
