SIUC to host Saluki Track and Field Camps

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Intercollegiate Athletics, in conjunction with the Division of Continuing Education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, will offer junior high and high school student-athletes a chance to learn new skills and improve their vaulting and throwing abilities at the 2011 Saluki Track and Field Camps.

The two sessions of the Pole Vault Camp are set for July 9 and July 16, both from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Four sessions of the Throws Camp will be July 9, 10, 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All camps will meet at SIUC’s Lew Hartzog Track, adjacent to the former McAndrew Stadium.

Both clinics will offer each participant a personalized evaluation of his or her technique(s). The registration fee for pole vaulting is $100 for one day or $150 for both days. The registration fee for the Throw camps is $100 for one day, $150 for two days, $250 for three days, or $300 for all four days. The registration fee provides a camp T-shirt, instruction, and limited camper accident medical insurance coverage.
