'Rocky Horror Picture Show' set for Oct. 29-30

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The campy classic “Rocky Horror Picture Show” is coming to Southern Illinois University Carbondale Halloween weekend.

The Student Programming Council Films Committee is sponsoring shows at midnight on Friday, Oct 29, and on Saturday, Oct. 30 in the Student Center’s Ballroom A. Admission for SIUC students with their University ID is $3. The general public pays just $4 per person to get in. You can also purchase a prop bag for $3.

SPC Films is also announcing its film schedule for the rest of the semester. The public is welcome at all movies. The science fiction thriller “Inception” will play Nov. 4-6. Rated PG-13, the movie is a 2010 release running about 148 minutes. Shows are at 7 p.m. with 10 p.m. shows also on Nov. 5 and 6.

“Resident Evil: Afterlife” is set for Dec. 2-4 with shows at 7 p.m. and additional 9:30 p.m. showings on Dec. 3 and 4. This action-packed, horror science-fiction film carries an R rating. The 2010 release is 97 minutes in length.

"Inception and "Resident Evil: Afterlife" will run in the Student Center Auditorium. Tickets are $2 for SIUC students with their ID cards and for children ages 10 and younger. Admission is $3 for the general public with children three and younger admitted free. But, organizers ask that parents not bring children to R-rated movies or shows that might be inappropriate for youngsters.
