SPC sponsoring trip to Six Flags Fright Fest

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- You can have a frightfully fun Halloween weekend at a bargain price thanks to Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Student Programming Council Special Events.

SPC is sponsoring a trip to the Six Flags Fright Fest on Saturday, Oct. 30. Anyone is welcome but those under age 18 must have a legal guardian accompany them unless they are an SIUC student and then they just need to show their student identification. The charter bus will leave the SIUC Student Center at 10:30 a.m. with anticipated arrival at Six Flags St. Louis about 1 p.m.

The cost is $59 per person but that includes admission to the amusement park, a food voucher, round trip transportation and an exclusive tour of the haunted house. That’s quite a bargain if you consider that the regular ticket price for the park alone is $42.99. Add in $15 for the haunted house, the expense of parking, gas and food, and you’ll find the $59 price is a savings estimated at more than $70.

Purchase tickets at the Central Ticket Office at the Student Center. With a limited number of tickets available, organizers suggest getting your ticket early.
