Student Programming Council seeks directors

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Being a part of the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Student Programming Council is a way for Salukis to leave their “Dawg print” on campus in a positive way.

The council is now accepting applications for students who would like to be Student Programming Council 2011 directors. Their terms will run from December 2010 through December 2011. Director positions open include: executive, vice executive, comedy, concerts, films, homecoming, lectures, marketing, SPC-TV, special events and visual arts.

Student Programming Council members will meet people, make valuable contacts, enhance their leaderships skills and gain relevant experience while researching, planning and managing events for fellow students. These dedicated volunteers give their time and energy to assure fun for all students. It’s a chance to have a positive impact at SIUC while also building your resume.

Applications are online at www.spc4fun.com. Any student enrolled with at least six credit hours and holding a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or above, and who is in good academic and disciplinary standing at the University, can apply. Completed applications are due no later than 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 13 in the SPC office on the third floor of the Student Center. Interviews will take place on Oct. 14 and 15.
