Res 2 Rec festival will bring students together
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- All sorts of exciting games and fun activities are on tap at Southern Illinois University Carbondale for Sunday’s Res 2 Rec festival.
University Housing and Recreational Sports and Services are teaming to sponsor the event from 11 to 6 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Sam Rinella Fields near Brush Towers. Intramural sports play includes flag football 1-4 p.m., grass volleyball from 2 to 5 p.m. and soccer 3-6 p.m.
You can also Zumba on the grass from 3 to 4 p.m. Or, enjoy an hour of yoga on the lawn beginning at 4 p.m. They’ll provide a limited number of yoga mats.
Part of the SIUC Week of Welcome, Res 2 Rec is a chance for students to gather and celebrating living together, playing together and being part of the Saluki family. Participants can also enjoy free bottled water and watermelon and get free T-shirts.
