SIUC to host engineering day camp this summer

by Amanda Scott

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Division of Continuing Education together with the College of Engineering will offer an engineering day camp this summer.

The camp, for youths in grades 6-8, is set for June 21-23. The camp meets each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the College of Engineering. During the three-day program students will learn about engineering through hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and conversations with faculty and students from the college. The goal of the camp is to engage students’ interest in engineering so that they may assume roles within the next generation of engineers.

Registration is $100 for all three days or $50 per day. Enrollment is limited. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. This camp fills up fast so organizers recommend early registration.

To register or for more information contact the Division of Continuing Education at 618/536-7751 or visit the website at https://www.dce.siu.edu/.
