Media Advisory -- State Police Train Teachers

The Illinois State Police will give teachers-to-be advice on how to deal with classroom problems such as cyber bullying and sexting during a seminar running from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Shryock Auditorium on the Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus.

The seminar is part of the College of Education and Human Services’ Week of Transition, which aims to ease the way as graduates enter the classroom as full-time professionals. Other seminars cover topics ranging from managing paperwork to handling disruptive students. Reporters, photographers and news crews who would like to attend any seminar should e-mail or call Jan E. Waggoner, director of the Office of Teacher Education, at waggoner@siu.edu or 618/453-2415.
