Student Center to host Easter Buffet

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Easter Buffet at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Student Center is the perfect way to mark the coming of spring and celebrate Easter.

The buffet is Sunday, April 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms.

The meal begins with vegetarian vegetable soup, leaf salad with dressing, tomato and cucumber salad along with raisin, cranberry and almond couscous. Featured entrees include roast baron of beef and apricot rubbed pork loin accompanied by candied yams, Delmonico potatoes, buttered green beans and buttered corn. The dessert bar will offer carrot cake, chocolate cake, hot cobblers, fresh fruit and assorted cookies. Iced tea and coffee round out the menu.

You can purchase tickets in advance at the Central Ticket Office on the second floor of the Student Center or by calling the office at 618/453-3478. The office is open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Purchased in advance, tickets are $13 for the general public, $12 for students and senior citizens or $6.75 for children ages 5-10 years. You can also get your tickets at the door the day of the buffet but the price is $1 more per ticket. Kids four and under eat free.
