CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Division of Continuing Education invites elementary, high school, college and university faculty, as well as alternative and future teachers including home-school educators and administrators, to attend the 2010 Closing the Gap conference. It will be at John A. Logan College on March 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

This year’s keynote speaker is Guy Doud, former National Teacher of the Year and author of bestseller, “Molder of Dreams.” The breakout sessions will offer strategies and techniques for all educators for pre-kindergarten through college. If you are a first through fourth-year or pre-service teacher entering the teaching profession, you may be interested in the all-day classroom management workshop, “I Can Do It.”
