Media Advisory -- Donation Drive
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Land of Lincoln AmeriCorps Team is sponsoring a Drive Up and Drop Off Donation Drive Monday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Carbondale Wal-Mart parking lot. Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to cover this event as SIUC students collect donations of clothing (especially children and infant winter apparel), food and books at a specially marked area.
The items they collect will benefit various local charitable organizations including the Women’s Center, Inc., Pregnancy Matters, Community Closet Outreach, Good Samaritan Ministries Food Pantry and Goodwill in Carbondale.
