Student jazz combos to present free program
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Jazz recordings are fun, but catching a live jazz concert is more fun.
Two student jazz combos present a free program of jazz standard beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 in the Old Baptist Foundation Recital Hall at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Classic jazz fans can expect to hear selections from Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and more.
The jazz combos are from a class in the jazz studies curriculum at SIUC in which students learn improvisation techniques and deepen their performance experience and skills.
