How long at SIUC: 15 years

Hometown: Murphysboro

When you were a youngster, what did you want to be when you grew up? Professional baseball player

People don’t know that you… Have five grandchildren and one more on the way.

If you could choose another profession, what would it be and why? Professional hunting guide, I could do what I love to do and see a lot of the country.

What is something you still want to accomplish in life? See my grandchildren marry and have children of their own.

What was the first “album” you ever bought, and was it an LP, 8-track or CD? Boston/8 track

If you could pick an actor/actress to play you in a movie, who would you pick and why? Michael Landon. He wasn’t very tall and neither am I.

Cats or dogs? Dogs

What is your favorite food and why? Fresh vegetables from the garden. I can grow them myself and pick them when they are ready.

Who has inspired you, and how? Mother and Father, they raised nine children and have been married for 51 years. If that’s not inspiration then I don’t know what is.

What is your pet peeve? People who won’t return things that they borrowed.
