Klassics for Kids performance set for Oct. 6
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Klassics for Kids season at Southern Illinois University Carbondale resumes with a musical presentation just for the youngest listeners on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
The performance is set for 10 a.m. on Altgeld Hall, room 112. As always, Klassics for Kids is free.
This performance targets children from pre-kindergarten age and younger, all the way to newborn. Groups, including day cares and pre-K programs, are welcome. Contact Kara Benyas at kbenyas@siu.edu or 618/453-5834 to schedule your group.
Other dates for the fall 2009 semester are:
• Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. -- performance for school age children featuring faculty performances
• Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. -- performance for pre-kindergarten and younger
Klassics for Kids is a community outreach program from the School of Music with performances designed specifically to introduce young listeners to classical and jazz music.
