SIUC to host job fair on Sept. 30

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- An all-majors job fair at Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Sept. 30 will offer students, alumni and interested community members an opportunity to connect with potential employers locally and around the country.

The event, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms, will feature representatives from more than 50 employers. Internships and permanent employment possibilities will be available.

Job fair participants include Aldi, Inc.; Ameren; Archers Daniels Midland; Bridgestone; Buckle apparel; Carbondale and Decatur police departments; Drury Hotels; Family Video; Illinois Department of Transportation; Jacobs; Jasper Engines and Transmission; Marion Veterans’ Administration Medical Center; Morton Buildings; Peace Corps; Toyota Motor Sales; the U.S. Marine Corps; U.S. Navy; U.S. Secret Service; WSIU Public Broadcasting; and Youth Villages.

Registration is not necessary and admission is free. Job seekers should bring multiple copies of their resumes and any other pertinent credentials, and should dress professionally and appropriately.

Students are welcome to attend a resume BLITZ at the Student Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sept. 21-23, if they are in need of a resume critique.
