Media Advisory -- Guyon Auditorium Dedication
Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to attend the dedication of the John C. Guyon Auditorium at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Morris Library on Monday, Aug. 31.
Chancellor Samuel Goldman and other current and former members of the SIUC community will honor Guyon, chancellor emeritus, during the 3-4:30 p.m. event. A reception in the Hall of Presidents and Chancellors will follow the dedication.
The new auditorium on the library’s main floor will bear the name of the man who served in a variety of senior administrative positions at SIUC for 20 years. Guyon was the University’s chancellor 1987-1996.
