Creative writing MFA students present reading

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Department of English at Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites the public to an open reading presented by 11 graduating students in the master of fine arts creative writing program.

The reading is from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, in the Student Center Renaissance Room. The graduates will read selections from their thesis works. Light refreshments are available.

Students in the MFA Creative Writing Program participate in readings throughout the semester and may assist with the annual Young Writers Workshop, held in the summer for high school students. This year, the Graduate Writers Forum launched the Little Grassy Literary Festival, a series of readings and panel discussions with established or up-and-coming authors.
