Media Advisory -- Rural Development Initiative
John Filan, the new executive director of the Illinois Finance Authority, along with board and staff members, will visit Southern Illinois on Monday, March 2, to discuss a statewide rural development effort. They will discuss the economic development initiative during two meetings with community leaders. Southern Illinois University President Glenn Poshard will host the morning session on the Carbondale campus. A luncheon meeting also is planned at the Kokopelli Golf Club in Marion.Filan will be available to meet with the media to discuss the new initiative at 10 a.m. at Stone Center on the SIUC campus, and at 2:15 p.m. at the Kokopelli Golf Club, 1401 Champions Drive, Marion.
