Nathan Williams to present clarinet performance
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Nathan Williams brings his clarinet for a solo performance at Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Feb. 4.
Williams is a member of the recording group Strata, a trio he founded that includes James Stern on violin and viola and Audrey Andrist on piano. The free performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Old Baptist Foundation Recital Hall.
Williams, a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the Juilliard School of Music, has performed all over the United States and Canada, as well as in Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Italy, Israel, Japan, Taiwan and the Czech Republic. He has a rich recording history, both solo and with Strata including various radio performances for CBC Radio and National Public Radio.
Williams’ visit to SIUC includes a master class on Feb. 5 for School of Music students.
