SWIC-SIUC Saluki Night set at Steeleville High

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Southwestern Illinois College may soon be coming to a high school near you! Those attending the Steeleville High School boys’ basketball game at 6:15 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13, for SWIC-SIUC Saluki Night will enjoy seeing the SIUC Saluki band, cheerleaders and Saluki Shakers performing alongside their Steeleville counterparts.

As the Steeleville Warriors and the Red Bud Musketeers battle it out on the basketball court, you can also visit the SIUC and SWIC recruiting tables. Representatives of each will be on hand to answer questions and distribute valuable information.

You don’t want to be late for this exciting evening of hoops fun, though. That’s because the first 250 fans will get a free SWIC-SIUC Saluki rally towel. The evening will also feature numerous raffles and drawings for great prizes from area businesses. It all happens at Steeleville High School, located at 701 S. Sparta St.

Admission at the door is $3 for adults and $1.50 for students. For more information, contact SWIC’s Red Bud campus at 618/282-6682, ext. 8114.

Mark your calendars now for the next Saluki Night, slated for Feb. 13 at Chester High School.
