by Andrea Hahn

CARBONDALE, Ill. — University Museum at Southern Illinois University Carbondale seeks entries from Illinois artists for "Woven Dreams," an upcoming, juried art show on weavings.

The Best of Show entry receives a $300 award. Work accepted for the show will be included in the public exhibit at the University Museum during the fall 2008 semester.

Artists should send slides, photographs or digital images of up to three entries. Entries must not exceed 96 inches in any direction. Entries that require the artist be present to move or assemble are not eligible. All work must be the artist's own and must have been created within the past five years. University Museum administrators have the right to reject exhibits that are substantially different from the submitted images. There is a $5 charge per entry.

The deadline for the image submissions is July 18. Call 618/453-5388 for more information.

Sylvia Greenfield, SIUC School of Art and Design professor emerita, is the exhibit juror and curator. Greenfield eared a master of fine arts degree from the University of Colorado in 1967. She joined the faculty at SIUC the following year.
