Journal names Balasubramanian as regional editor

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Siva K. Balasubramanian, Henry J. Rehn Professor of Marketing in Southern Illinois University Carbondale's College of Business and Administration, has been named the North American Regional Editor of the British Food Journal.

"I was delighted to hear this news," said Balasubramanian. "This journal is really on a high-profile growth trajectory, so I expect this position will bring new visibility and opportunity to showcase my research on food consumption behaviors."

Balasubramanian also researches new types of marketing messages such as product placement, customer relationship management, new product diffusion, and the impact of strategic business decisions on shareholders' wealth.

"SIU College of Business provides an excellent environment for academic research," said Balasubramanian, who has been teaching at SIUC for more than 15 years.

Balasubramanian earned a bachelor of science and a master's of business administration degrees from Osmania University in India. He received a doctorate in marketing from The State University of New York at Buffalo.
