CARBONDALE, Ill. — Amidst all of the spooks and frights of the Halloween season comes the opportunity for an evening of safe, indoor family-oriented fun at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. "Batty for Bowling" is coming to the Student Center's Bowling and Billiards from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26.

A costume contest for children ages 12 and younger is set for 7 p.m. Participants can enjoy refreshments and the evening offers freebies and prizes for the kids. Bring a non-perishable food item or nice, clean winter clothing items and bowl free. The Women's Center Inc. in Carbondale will be the beneficiary of the donated items. Throughout the evening, organizers will also accept monetary donations for the Southern Illinois Juvenile Diabetes Support Group.

Bowling and Billiards and Sigma Alpha Lambda Honor Society are sponsors for the festivities. For more information about "Batty for Bowling" call 618/453-3481 or 618/453-2803.
