Free sailing, windsurfing available this weekend
CARBONDALE, Ill. – What better way to enjoy the weekend than by gliding across a scenic lake? Southern Illinois University Carbondale students, faculty, staff and family members are welcome to enjoy a free sailboat ride or windsurfing this weekend.
The SIUC Windsurfing Club and the Southern Illinois Collegiate Sailing Club, registered student organizations and sports clubs of Student Recreational Sports and Services, are sponsoring the sailing and windsurfing. It all takes place from noon until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8-9, at the Campus Lake Beach, weather permitting.
No reservations are needed but rides are on a first-come basis so early arrival is suggested. Participants can enjoy either activity or both.
