Liberal Arts dean candidate to visit April 25-26

Dorothy W. K. Ige, one of four finalists for dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, will be on campus for a two day visit beginning Wednesday, April 25.

Ige will deliver her thoughts on "Educational Challenges for Liberal Arts in the 21st Century" at an open forum at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the University Museum Auditorium in Faner Hall.

She also will meet with University officials, and support staff, department directors and chairs in the college.

Other finalists who have been or will be on campus are interim Dean Alan C. Vaux, George Arasimowicz and Arved Larsen. The new dean will replace Shirley Clay Scott.
