Intramural teams compete in state tournament
Two intramural basketball teams from Southern Illinois University Carbondale will compete in the 2007 State of Illinois Extramural Basketball Tournament set for Feb 23-25 at DePaul University in Chicago.
The teams, "Southern Illinois Boys" and "Fly High", will compete against nearly 20 college intramural basketball teams from across the state. Winners will receive trophies and a chance to compete in the national tournament in April at Ohio State University.
SIUC officials Deveon A. Stiff and Kyle Mitchell will also participate in the Chicago tournament. Stiff has received Illinois "Official of the Year" honors during the past three years. Charles E. Ferguson, a coordinator with SIUC Recreational Sports and Services, will sit on the All Tournament Committee at the state tournament.
