by Laura K. Taylor

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Los Angeles Chapter of the SIU Alumni Association invites members to attend a Broadway performance of "Wicked — The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz."

The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, Calif., on Sunday, April 22, plays host to the show, a wildly popular musical about how two unlikely friends end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch in the Land of Oz. John Rubenstein is cast as the Wizard, Eden Espinosa as Elphaba, Megan Hilty as Glinda, and Carol Kane as Madame Morrible.

A pre-performance reception is set for 11:30 a.m. inside the Pantages Theatre and will feature herb-crusted shrimp, barbeque filet mignon, grilled cheese finger sandwiches, lavender-walnut chicken, Belgian endive salad and assorted sweets along with wine and beer bar service.

The performance begins at 1 p.m. with seating available in the mezzanine and orchestra areas. Mezzanine seating (J-M) along with reception tickets cost $102 per person. Orchestra seating (NN-RR) along with reception tickets cost $130 per person.

Because of the show's popularity and limited tickets, only SIU Alumni Association members may purchase tickets before March 1. After March 1, tickets are open to all alumni and friends, subject to availability. Please have all reservations into the SIU Alumni Association by April 1.

For more information or to order your tickets, please contact the SIU Alumni Association at 618/453-2408.
