by Pete Rosenbery

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale's law school will hold a series of regional receptions for alumni, attorneys, judges and friends of the SIU School of Law during the next few weeks.

The receptions in Springfield, St. Louis and Chicago serve a variety of purposes, including student recruitment and job placement for current students. Elizabeth Murphy, the law school's director of alumni affairs and annual giving, said the receptions also provide the opportunity for officials to talk with hiring partners about job possibilities for current second- and third-year law school students.

Donors and friends of the law school are also welcome at the receptions.
