Campus Safety Alert Southern Illinois University Carbondale Oct. 24, 2006

Southern Illinois University Carbondale police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 1 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, between Life Science I and Life Science II.

The victim, an 18-year-old SIUC student, reported the incident to police on Monday, Oct. 23. He told police he was approached by two of four black males and robbed. The victim told police one of the suspects had a knife in his right hand to the side of his body. The victim said he was punched in the face and fell to the ground. He was lying face-down on his stomach during the robbery, and one of the suspects pulled the victim's wallet, which was made of duct tape, out of the victim's right back pants pocket. The wallet contained about $28.

Descriptions are available on three of the four suspects.

The victim described the first suspect as a black male, in his late teens to early 20s, about 5 feet, 11 inches, weighing 185 pounds. He was wearing a red winter-type coat with the wording "FUBU" on the front.

The second suspect is a black male, in his late teens to early 20s, 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet tall, 190 pounds, with dark cornrow hair. No clothing description was available.

The third suspect, who had the knife, is a black male, also in his late teens to early 20s, 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet tall, 200 pounds. No clothing description was available.
