Media Advisory Small Business Ceremony Features Dippin'Dots Founder
Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Small Business Development Center and Entrepreneurship Center will honor the achievements of regional entrepreneurs today (June 13) during a celebration of Illinois Small Business Week. Keynote speaker for the event, which runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, 150 E. Pleasant Hill Road, is SIUC graduate Curt Jones, founder and president of Dippin' Dots.
Awards include: Spirit of Entrepreneurship, Most Creative Concept, New Business, Southern Illinois SBA Lender of the Year, Small Business Champion Award, Woman Entrepreneur of the Year and the Saluki Entrepreneurship Award.
Reporters, photographers and camera crews are welcome to cover the event. The awards ceremony will begin at about 1 p.m.
