Agriculture education conference is March 23-24

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale will play host to the 39th annual Agriculture Articulation Conference later this month in Springfield.

The Illinois Association of Community College Agriculture Instructors' 2006 symposium, titled "Building Blocks for Career Pathways," is set for March 23-24 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel & Conference Center. The conference runs 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., March 23 and 7:30 a.m. to noon March 24.

The association will conduct regular business activities during the conference. The Illinois Committee for Agricultural Education and Illinois Leadership Council for Agricultural Education also have events planned, including Career Pathways Advisory Council meetings. The meetings focus on how current agricultural education in Illinois is meeting the needs of the various career pathways from pre-kindergarten through college.

Conference registration is $65, which includes dinner March 23, or $55 without dinner. There will be a $10 late fee if registering at the door.
