SIUC to host job fair on Feb. 21

CARBONDALE, Ill. — An all-majors job fair at Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Tuesday, Feb. 21, will give students, alumni and interested community members a first-hand look at job opportunities both locally and around the country.

The event, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms, will feature representatives from 70 to 75 potential employers. Internships and permanent employment possibilities will be available.

Registration is not necessary and admission is free.

Job seekers should bring multiple copies of their resumes and any other pertinent credentials, and should dress professionally and appropriately. Students are welcome to attend a resume BLITZ at Career Services from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Feb. 13, and Tuesday, Feb. 14, if they are in need of a resume critique.

Job fair participants include Caterpillar, Inc., Archer Daniels Midland, Ameren, Finish Line, Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois Secretary of State Police, Illinois State Police, Missouri Department of Transportation, Norfolk Southern Corp., Peace Corps, Pepsi MidAmerica, Toyota Motor Manufacturing and UPS.
