SalukiVision revises its men's basketball line-up

by Rod Sievers

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Changes in scheduling and rights contracts with cable television outlets have led to a revision in the line-up of Southern Illinois University Carbondale men's basketball games carried by SalukiVision, a live Internet streaming service that offers various athletic events to SIUC alumni and others across the country and around the world.

SalukiVision must drop the Jan. 2 game with Wichita State, the Jan. 11 game with Evansville, the Jan. 22 game with Illinois State and the Feb. 7 game with Missouri State. These four games, scheduled at the SIU Arena, will now be carried on ESPNU or Fox Sports. For more information about the availability of these games, consult the Saluki's men's basketball schedule listed at http://siusalukis.collegesports.com.

Added to the SalukiVision schedule are the Jan. 14 game with Drake, the Jan. 16 game with Northern Iowa, the Jan. 19 game with Missouri State and the Feb. 28 game with Illinois State. These contests, which will also be broadcast live on WSIU-TV, are road games and are not available to cable television audiences.

"We want to thank WSIU for allowing SalukiVision to offer these games to a wider audience," said Sue Davis, executive director of SIUC's office of Media & Communication Resources. "Now, in addition to Southern Illinois viewers, people in other parts of the country will be able to watch the Dawgs in action.

"We wish we were able to carry more games, but last-minute contractual arrangements beyond our control made it necessary to revise the SalukiVision schedule."
