SIUC offers online, and independent study courses

CARBONDALE, Ill -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Individualized Learning Program and the office of Distance Education are offering a variety of both print and Web-based courses this summer. ILP courses are available to anyone eligible for admission to SIUC. There is open enrollment through the seventh week of the semester.

Online courses that follow the semester calendar are also offered.

New online semester based courses offered this summer include MKTG 350 - Small Business Marketing, MKTG 304 - Marketing Management, MKTG 329 - Marketing Channels, and MKTG 350 -Small Business Marketing. The charge for the marketing courses will be the same as for all online semester-based courses.

The rest of this summer's class list spans core curriculum to mathematics to political science courses. New courses that have been added to the growing list of distance education courses include:

THEA 101 -Theater Insight (Web-based only course)

ENGL 303 - Literary History of the United States Before 1900

ENGL 305 - Literary History of Britain and the United States, 1900 to present

AJ 201 - Introduction to Criminal Justice System

AD 101 - Introduction to Art, Design, and Visual Culture
