CARBONDALE, Ill. -- It's time to start thinking about what vegetables and flowers should be planted this year and the College of Agricultural Sciences can help you get a start.

The Vegetables and Ornamentals Spring Plant sale is Saturday, April 9 at the SIUC Horticulture Greenhouse on Rowden Road. The sale begins at 8 a.m. and continues until the plants and vegetables are sold out.

Vegetable transplants include many heirloom and hybrid varieties of tomatoes and peppers – both hot and mild. Ornamentals include exotic tropicals (Lantana, Canna, Mexican Petunia, Elephant Ear, and Sweet Potato Vine), hardy perennials (Sediums, Ivys, Butterfly Bush) and annuals.

To get to the greenhouse take Chautauqua Road west from campus for about two miles. Turn left (south) onto Rowden Road and go about one-half mile. The greenhouse is on the right side of the road.
