SIUC to hold Spring Herbicide Tour April 12

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University's Sixth Annual Spring Applied Herbicide Tour will begin with registration at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at the University's Belleville Research Center, located on Illinois Route 161 near Scott Air Force Base's south gate. Tour organizers have applied for 1.5 units of continuing education credit.

The tour begins at 10 a.m. Those on the tour wagons will see the results of fall applications of corn and soybean weed killers and winter wheat management and get handouts on Star-of-Bethlehem and winter annual grass identification. They will also learn about other weed control issues they may wish to consider in getting ready for the coming growing season.

Lunch will be available after the tour.
